The law firm Gusmão & Labrunie Advogados values privacy and the protection of personal data of all data subjects. Therefore, it has prepared this Privacy Notice ("Notice") in compliance with the laws on data protection, including Law No. 13,709, of August 14, 2018 (Brazilian General Data Protection Law - "LGPD").
Here, we clarify how we process your personal data, for what purposes, with whom we share them, how long we keep them, what rights you have, how we inform updates and handle third-party links, and our contact channels.
WHO WE ARE?
Gusmão & Labrunie Advogados ("Gusmão & Labrunie" or "Firm") is a law firm registered with CNPJ/MF under No. 03.415.856/0001-16 and headquartered at Avenida Brigadeiro Faria Lima, No. 1485, Jardim Paulistano, São Paulo/SP, ZIP Code 01452-002.
For the purposes of the LGPD, and regarding what is mentioned in this Notice, we are data controllers. This means that we are responsible for determining the means used and the purposes for which the personal data described herein are processed.
DEFINITIONS
PERSONAL DATA: information that identifies a person or allows its identification, such as name, CPF (taxpayer registry number), email, address, contact information, etc.
SENSITIVE PERSONAL DATA: information related to racial or ethnic origin, religious belief, political opinion, membership in a union or religious, philosophical, or political organization, health data, data on sexual life, genetic or biometric data of a person.
DATA PROTECTION OFFICE MANAGER: is the person responsible for the contact between the Law Firm and data subjects regarding matters related to data privacy.
DATA SUBJECT: is the person to whom the personal data being processed refers.
PROCESSING: is any process performed with personal data during its life cycle, such as collection, use, access, reproduction, sharing, archiving, storage, and deletion.
Whenever the terms "we", "our", or "us" are used, we are referring to the Firm. When we mention "you," "your," or "yours," we are referring to you, as a data subject.
WHAT PERSONAL DATA ARE PROCESSED AND FOR WHAT PURPOSES?
For the exercise of our activities, we need to process some personal data, which may be provided directly by you or by third parties. The chart below indicates what this data is and for what specific purposes it will be processed by us:

CAN YOUR PERSONAL DATA BE SHARED?
We may share your personal data with third parties, such as partner institutions, public agencies, the Judiciary, technology companies, and other service providers.
Your personal data may be shared for legitimate purposes related to our services, such as:
- Allowing third parties to provide the services necessary for the functioning of the Firm;
- Complying with legal, regulatory, or contractual obligations and responding to judicial or administrative processes, audits, or legal requests by competent authorities whenever we are legally obligated;
- Enabling the exercise of our rights in judicial, administrative, or arbitration processes; and
- Protecting you, your legitimate interests, and/or third parties; and
- Based on your legally obtained consent.
Gusmão & Labrunie will use, when applicable, contractual instruments and audits to ensure that third parties receiving your personal data provide them with the same protection provided by us. We highlight that aggregated and anonymized information is not personal data and may be freely shared.

HOW LONG WILL WE PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
We will process your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which they were collected, and also in the following cases:
- If there is a legal or contractual obligation to retain them;
- If they are necessary for investigation, auditing, or regular exercise of our rights in judicial, administrative, or arbitration processes; and
- If they are necessary to maintain accurate accounting records.
It is possible that data may be maintained in anonymized form – so it cannot identify you again – for statistical purposes without a time limit, to the extent of our legitimate interests.
HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL DATA SAFE?
In order to provide greater security to personal data, we adopt technical and administrative measures capable of keeping them, whenever possible, protected from unauthorized access and from accidental or unlawful situations of destruction, loss, alteration, communication, or any other form of inadequate processing, always in light of applicable laws on personal data protection and information security. Security measures are continuously monitored and reviewed according to technological advances and organizational resources.
Although widely monitored and reviewed through the internal policies and procedures of the Firm, any security incidents that may compromise the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of your personal data, if applicable, will be notified to you through appropriate channels.

You, as a Personal Data Holder, have the following rights, as applicable:

If you believe that the processing is not in compliance with the law or do not receive a response to your request, you may petition the controller before the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).

We will make our best efforts to respond to your request as quickly as possible. However, it may take some additional time to process and respond to your request.

HOW DO WE USE COOKIES?
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser or device that allow recognition of your preferences. They help us prioritize your interests during your experience on our website.
